Kampfgruppe von Rybus...
A World War II Re-Enactment/Living History Group that is made up of Heer, SS and Luftwaffe re-enactors. We operate as a cohesive unit under elected leaders. We stress generic "landser" impressions in each branch of service. Through coordinated planning, this adaptability allows accurate participation in any scenario, any time frame and in any theater. We strive for a high level of authenticity while allowing some flexibility in each individuals impression. Our goal is to portray the soldiers of the period in a historically accurate manner, while having fun.
The Zugfuehrer, Spiess and Gruppenfuehrer are elected every two years. We are a non-profit corporation established in the State of Colorado. Our members live in the general "Rocky Mountain" region, including Colorado, Utah, Nebraska, Wyoming, New Mexico and Montana. We are the largest Reenactor group in the vicinity. Look for our vehicles and members in the movie "Saints and Soldiers".
The German term “Kampfgruppe” is translated to English as, ”Battle group”. It is an ad hoc formation of available sub-parts of other larger units. It was usually for a limited duration and assembled for a specific objective or task. The kampfgruppe was a widely used formation by the German forces during WWII. It was customary to take the name of the commanding officer. (Read more under the “About” tab)
We have adopted this idea in the composition of our reenacting unit. It allows for members to continue to expand their reenactment interest by allowing an avenue to pursue Heer (army), Luftwaffe (air force), and SS impressions while remaining part of the organization.
Kampfgruppe von Rybus is a non-political organization. We do not endorse nor condone the ideologies of the Third Reich, Fascists, National Socialist or Neo-Nazi movements.
